Franki Wals (b. 1989, Córdoba, Spain) is a multidisciplinary artist working across sound, video, text, and other expressive media. His practice is grounded in an ongoing engagement with experience, perception, and environment — and the intricate web of relations that connect them.

Having lived and worked in a range of places, Wals draws from a rich variety of cultural and sonic contexts that have deeply informed his approach. His work often involves strategies such as disciplined listening, field recording, and electroacoustic improvisation, through which he explores the shifting boundaries between the self, sound, and space. In live settings, he typically performs using a configuration of laptop, no-input mixing board, and a range of sound-generating devices, navigating the edges of noise, texture, and silence with a focused, improvisational sensibility.

Wals has presented his work internationally in locations including China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Spain, Taiwan, Türkiye and Vietnam. He also runs leaf /// wave sound, an online label dedicated to experimental music, sound art, and electroacoustic improvisation, which has featured releases by both emerging artists and established figures such as Jason Kahn, Kevin Corcoran, Gabriel Saloman, Sun Yizhou and many others.
